Scheduling, Registration and Admission

ENMMC will not deny any person medically needed treatment on the basis of race, color, creed, national origin, age, handicap, or the source of payment for the care.

The Registration Area is conveniently located on the ground floor of the hospital by the main entrance.  Registration hours are from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Thursday and Friday.

Pre-Certification

Many health insurance plans require pre-certification prior to providing hospital services.  Please check with your physician to make sure that the pre-certification is verified according to your plan’s instructions to avoid any reduction in your insurance benefits.

Scheduled Procedures and Pre-Procedure Instructions

Your physician or other healthcare provider will schedule your pre-op testing, surgical procedure or diagnostic procedure, and will let you know the date and time to arrive at the hospital.  Please make sure you receive information about any pre-procedure instructions.

Upon Your Arrival

Sign in at the “Cashier” desk in the Registration Area.  A Business Services representative will complete the necessary forms for admission or ask you to verify the pre-registration information that may have been submitted by your physician.

During your registration, information and authorization will be needed for your medical record and for financial arrangements. All information will be handled confidentially.

Please bring any insurance materials including your insurance and/or Medicare or Medicaid cards, and pay any co-pays or deductibles if owed.

Other helpful information to bring with you includes a medical history (previous surgeries or medical conditions, allergies, etc.), a list of medications you take, and your advance directive if you have one.  We have advance directive forms available for your use.

Required Signatures

ENMMC is required to inform all patients of their rights and responsibilities and to obtain signatures on required forms each time a patient enters the hospital.  A parent or legal guardian must accompany a child under age 18 to sign forms authorizing hospital personnel to treat the minor (in most cases.)

Room Selection

ENMMC assigns rooms based on the type of medical care you are to receive, and room availability.  If we are unable to honor your room request, please ask a Business Services representative or your nurse to place your name on the “transfer request list.”  You will be moved to the requested room type when an appropriate room becomes available.

A deposit is required when you request a private room.  If your insurance plan pays only the cost of a semiprivate room, you will be responsible for paying the difference between your insurance room benefit and the cost of the room you occupy.

Senior Circle

Please let the Business Services rep know if you are a Senior Circle member.  Senior Circle members receive a complimentary private room upgrade when staffing and availability permits.  Application forms are available in Registration.
